AtomicLog Web Site Monitor Guide

Getting Started
  • Press the Local button to enter Remote mode.
  • Press the edit website information . Enter the host name in the Host box to add a new host.
  • Enter the FTP username in the User Name and the password in the Password box (Your web host provider can supply you with this information.).
  • If you're connected to the Internet you can use the directory tree list below the Current Log box or enter the full path for your log. file.
  • Press Save to save your host information and close the host window.
  • Press the Start button. You can start reading the file at the beginning or the end. If you start at the beginning, AtomicLog analyzes all the data, but if the log file is large this can take a long time. If you just want to see what's happening at your web site right now, start at the end by pressing Only New Data when asked.
Program Tips
  • To change the type of chart or log, the data type, or the timeframe for a quadrant, first click in the quadrant to select it. Hold the CTL key to change all quadrants.
  • See more: drill into a chart. Hold the CTL key and click the bar you want to see more information about.
  • Filter the condensed log by any column. Hold the CTL key and click the cell you want to filter by. Click the column header to remove the filter.
  • WHOIS Lookup First press the letter X to turn extended mode on. From the condensed log click the name in the IPAddress column.

Data Types Button Keyboard
Sort by the number of unique host or I.P address that visited your site for the category and timeframe  U
Sort by the number of hits or page views for the category and timeframe  V
Sort by the bandwidth used or produced by the category and timeframe calculated in kilobytes  B

TimeFrame Button Keyboard
Show the traffic by hour or the top referrers, domains, countries, or files for the last hour  H
Show the traffic by day or the top referrers, domains, countries, or files for the last day  D
Show the traffic by month or the top referrers, domains countries, or files for the last month  M

Log Element Description
First The first date or time if it was the current date the visitor visited your site
Last The most recent date or time the visitor came to your site
Source The name of your web site that was visited
IP IP address or host name or company name for the was resolved for the visitor
Visits The number of times this visitor has came to your site
Hits No of page views or hits the visitor made at your site
KB No of kbytes the visitor downloaded from your site
Errors No of errors the encountered by the visitor
Referer The site that referred the visitor to your site
Country The country for the visitor
Files The files visited or downloaded by the visitor

If you don't want to see a file in the Files column click anywhere in the column and select the file name. To make it appear again, click the bar left of the file name on the Files chart .
