How do I block web site ads? |
Find the web site serving the Ad in the condensed log and click the button next to it to filter the site. AtomicLog only works with "third party" banners. That is, they use another server (like BurstMedia, Advertising.com, Doubleclick, etc.) However, if a server stores all its ad pictures itself, blocking the site will also block the content because they are from the same server.

What if my server doesn't support the RESTART command? |
Most Unix servers support the RESTART command, but many NT servers don't. If your site's FTP server doesn't support the RESTART command, you will not be able to use the real-time features of AtomicLog. AtomicLog has to read the log file from the beginning each time you start the program. After the log is processed you can delete it from your server so it doesn't download it again.

What is DNS resolution? |
DNS resolution is the process of translating IP addresses to domain names. AtomicLog automatically attempts to perform DNS resolution for the I.P addresses in your log file.
Why do I see an IP Address instead of a translated host name? |
AtomicLog automatically performs the DNS translate of an IP address into a host name. But sometimes the translation fails because not all IP address have a host name. If you have DNS translation turned off, none of your IP addresses will be translated, press the Scroll Lock (Function F10) on your keyboard to turn it back on.
